Makaton

Makaton

Today, over 100,000 young people and adults use Makaton signs and symbols.

Makaton is increasingly used by the general public to aid communication, supporting those around to take a more active part in life where language and communication is no longer such an obstacle.

We are keen to ensure that our learners feel heard and have the appropriate tools to communicate, whether that be verbally or via language systems such as Makaton.

We are also incredibly fortunate in that our training centre can facilitate regular training courses to support staff, young people and their families and the wider community in being able to communicate via Makaton.
